Principal Bios
Aaron Barcellona, president of Arturo Barcellona Custom Homes, works diligently to create the most prestigious custom homes in North America. With over a decade of experience, he has perfected each area of the construction trade. He has acquired an in-depth knowledge of field techniques and has gained a strong reputation for his standard of ethics and consistent delivery of quality homes. He has successfully completed several high volume projects, and his clear vision and high degree of integrity has gained him notability in the industry. As his various projects have come to fruition, he has upheld a consistent record of delivering high quality homes, on time and on budget.
Aaron graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stout, and he received his Bachelor of Arts in Science. He majored in Construction and minored in Business Finance. After graduation, he was courted by one of the nation’s largest and most respected hotel chains, Hyatt Hotels.
Aaron worked with Hyatt Hotels as assistant director of engineering. During this time, he completed two multi-million dollar projects: the opening of the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, in Chicago, Illinois, and a complete renovation of the Hyatt Regency Tampa.
All the while, Aaron persistently concentrated on construction, focusing on a rich array of architectural styles, cultural influences and market trends. Aaron’s passion guided him to accept an invitation from a highly respected and well-known builder.
Aaron deftly moved from Director of Construction to Director of Sales to President and Chief Operating Officer. All the while, his ardor for building grew stronger, his vision clearer. He sought independence and to further perfect and nurture his craft; hence the birth of Arturo Barcellona Custom Homes.
Meet Jason Vermilya, Chief Operating Officer
Jason Vermilya grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania. He worked along side his father, a well established building contractor in Pennsylvania, and he deftly learned the ropes of the construction trade at a young age. Putting all his construction knowledge on the side, Jason headed off to school and obtained a Masters’ Degree in the Science of Education from Bloomsburg University. After graduation, he moved to Florida and accepted a teaching position: 9th grade Science. During the summer of his first year teaching Jason built on the construction expertise he gained as a young man, and he started a painting & construction company. He worked diligently in the summers and on weekends, and he found himself looking forward to each new project. He approached each job like an organized science project. All the while, Jason was quickly gaining a remarkable reputation as the best in his field with his construction projects and the best in the classroom with his teaching styles.
In order to direct his energy towards one of his passions, Jason decided to focus on one field. It was during the summer of his second year teaching, and after being nominated for “teacher of the year”, when Jason was forced to make a decision between construction and teaching. Although, he knew he would miss teaching, he decided to follow in his fathers’ footsteps and pursue his goals in the construction industry. It was his first passion above all else, and it had remained in the forefront of his career aspirations.
Now, 10 years later, Jason has molded himself into a contractor like no other. He has taken a special interest in Green Building and is passionate about the latest innovative technology in building materials. He has discovered that building to perfection is a science, and he approaches each of his building endeavors with a scientific mind and creative style.

Our Practices
The way a project flows from start to finish depends on many factors within the construction process. The Arturo Barcellona team takes that challenge very seriously and knows that a masterfully planned and organized project ultimately produces a memorable experience for the homeowner. That is why every project is closely supervised with a day-to-day schedule, and weekly updates to the owner. We handle all communications between the owner, builder, and architect as if they are critical to the success of the project. In some cases, owners may be relocating from another area and cannot be on site to watch the progress of their investment or attend meetings with the builder and the architect. With the use of modern technology, the sky is the limit. We use all the resources we have at our disposal for video conference calls and daily photos/video of the project’s site and relay that back to owners, so that they too may be a part of this exciting process.
The Owner, Builder and Architect
As a master in our trade, we understand from looking at an architect’s drawings on paper what story the house will tell. It is our job to translate this story into a tangible reality while maintaining the budget, environmental conditions of the land, and the technical aspects of the home. We understand that the architect is an artist, so we use only the finest materials and craftsman to create a vision that has the utmost respect for its environment.
